Kathleen Vacek began writing stories in first grade, and went on to publish a class newspaper with one of her fourth grade classmates.  She writes about travel, food, and simplicity.  Kathleen is also coordinator of the Writing Center and Writing Across the Curriculum at the University of North Dakota.

Kathleen’s many adventures include serving in the Peace Corps, teaching in China, and pursuing a PhD at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She lives in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
